Heya people :)

Boy o boy!! long time no see. Long time since I blogged.
Have the best opportunity to blog again :) Rajnikanth's new movie has released yippie!!
There is another post I have written for Rajni's Movie 'Boss-The Sivaji'... ... .. er 'Sivaji- The Boss'

Having nothing to do on a Sunday morning, my friend tells me "dude, lets go to Robot". I was like, alright, been a long time since I saw Rajni's new wigs, mass make-up, death defining stunts that would put Einstien and Newton screaming "how the hell can he defy my laws!!" and how he beats the shit out of people using things like a 1 Rupee Topaz Blade which people normally don't use to shave their face hair, you get at a Kirana shop which he uses to cut the bullets, rebound them etc, how he makes the cars fly which would make the Wright bros think "hmm, why did we not think about it before? :'( ", his Yenglish yakkcent that the kids try to mimmic. The list goes on and on and on ............ ... .. .. and on.

My relative (Divya jain), put it beautifully on her facebook, as her status
"Endhiran releases, Rajni gives 2 stars to TOI,
Rajni's e-mail ID, gmail@rajni.com"

We enter the theatre and occupy our seats, saw loadsa teens, aunty-uncle log, couples (to watch the movie). They show the film certificate and people go haywire, auntya sab chilla rahe hain, log seeti maar rahe hain.

Enter Rajni, the first thing you notice is his brand new wig, atleast 10 kgs (good exercise for his brain) and a lot leaner. Working on a robo (he calls it chitti). He just tightens a few screws and feeds him (his memory...) with various with things and tadaa!! it starts to dance like MJ and fights like Bruce Lee. Cool stuff ae! Then enters Ash, 1/10th the age of Rajni but beautiful as ever. I thought she might be his grand-daughter but after some song sequences and certain things that happened between them, I was sure, that is not the relation they have...

Enter the villian, some-weird-long-tamil-name played by Danny Ding-dong-pa. He plays this guy who is jealous of Rajni's success and he wants the 'neural schema' of 'Chitti' to feed his own machines. Meantime, chitti is with ash, beating a few dozen gundas and he does 'bend-the-physical-laws' stunts (he runs on the train as well as on the SIDE of the train, first time in Indian cinema people, claps claps). When his battery goes low, he gets charged by plugging in by a 2-pin socket as you charge your shaver, magnificianto!!

Further down the movie, the robo develops emotions, falls in love with ash (who wouldn't like to) and Rajni chops him off and dumps him in the dumpster (who the hell throws a robo in a kachre-ka-dibba, that was odd). Danny Ding-dong-pa goes to the dump station and tries to find it, but hey!! the robo is in his car, in the backseat, reminds me of the movie Don where Amitabh Bachchan is in the backseat of Ifftekar's jeep (the policeman).. Wonder if Ash suggested "please Rajni uncle, let the robo be in the backseat and say Surprise!! and blow a trumpet". They did agree to her, only on some points.

Ash tells chitti 'you are a machine and have no emotions, how can you love a human'..haha, the opposite is true though, there are some tiny machines which can make people adore em 0:)(Americans would know better)

The climax is good (seriously), the bad-chitti (fitted with danny ding-dong-pa's red evil chip that looks like a mobile SIM card and someone spit gutkha on it) builds an army and a fortress and captures Ash (lanka style). Here you see some good never-seen-before-in-Indian-cinema special effects, the army forms into different shapes (just like nature's fractal designs) and fights the policemen. This was indeed cool!!

Ultimately, sacchai ki jeet hoti he bure pe and everyone's happy.........

Also, i have heard that Hollywood producers have lined up to buy the rights of Rajni-Chitti-Ash-Robots story and would call it Terminator-5 : Robo with a Golden heart. No prizes for guessing, who will replace Arnold Shivajinagar :D

Ultimately, its a good watch :) and respect to Rajni, he is a very humble person.

Please do leave comments..

LTNS(Long Time,No See)

Blogger Dashboard says the last time I blogged was on 10th of Oct 2007. It's been a freaking looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time I say.. I still remember the last time I blogged, that was after the IIT Shaastra. Zillions of things have happened after that, my bro got married, I completed 2 sems, a taste of Financial markets (God help me!),gained-lost-gained-lost weight (semesters, you know how the waxing and waning happens, food), my college princi got replaced, hostel food is getting worse, even the rats, roaches in the mess are calling for a mass exodus and the puppy that was at the local dhaba looks like a lion now.

Ha ha (*sob*) feels good to blog, khushi ke aasu.
well well well. I got placed in Siemens, first for the college, ijjat bachali maine college ki but they dont ijjat me. jalte hainn sab. Was the only guy who got selected for Siemens from 101 people. 0:)
I want to be in the Financial markets baby (the IT side, of course)
My bro, my godfather told me to leap onto a tiger, play with it(the Financial market duh!). I tasted blood. want more!!

Ah! I am in 7th sem, final year. last 3 years were the best years of my life. Things have ***completely*** changed :)
3 years back I was feeling 80 years old (3 years back I was 19), now I feel 15. I thank my parents, god, anna (bro), Dr.Aarti ji :) and my bhabhiji :) (bhabhiiiiiii :))))) ) I feel as if I am reborn.

another 7 months, I ll be working :) start of the real life.

Meantime I am building a FIX engine as the final sem project (actually its FIX engine, OMS and Java Swing IDE for the same).

Work has already begun. Expected time to finish the project- 9 months. Its complicated, its sexy, its my love.

More blogging to follow... watch this space :)

IIT Shaastra 2007 :)

(note:all links open in a new window)
Hello people :D

Here I am, went to participate in India's biggest tech fest 'IIT Shaastra' conducted by the IIT Madras. Ok what am I doing over there. Well, me and my another friend built a pick-and-place robot which had a nonsense Stepper motor interface problem which didn't make it work but wait did I tell you I came to know about the competetion only about 25 days before the event and we had internals and we didn't work on the robo for a week. So in approximately 15 we built the following beauty, right from the scratch..

We just had 3 days before the Shaastra started to implement what we had planned in our brains. The main deal was the mechanical thing. I thank God that my friend has a few contacts with a few industry people we were able to build the chassis in a given short time. We used to stay in the factory for more than 13 hours each day. It was wonderful experience getting hands on experience to the tools which we used to draw in the Mechanical Workshop Journal books.

I said 'theek hai yaar! wahan pe dekhenge kya hoga. If the circuit works fine else it is still fine'...

After all the fuss of canceling and reserving the train tickets which I don't want to talk to talk about, we reached Chennai :) .. When I stepped out of the train I felt as if I was thrown into an oven. I was sweating as if a 5th standard kid was sent to the principal for sticking the chewing gum on the teacher's chair and she sat on it :/ . I thank God that my another partner for the competetion, John Avisnash is a Tamilian. I just know a few words in Tamil...like

  • Tamil teri (a)maa (Do you understand tamil?)
  • Tambi (Small Brother)
  • Annai (Big Brother)
  • Kaadal (Love)
  • Teri yaada (Understand)(Don't mistake it with teri yaad :P )
and the common Tamil songs which the students keep playing in the hostel...
Come outta the station and you get flocked by these autowalas like millions of Sperms get attracted towards an embryo (ok ok a very bakwaas example I know.. I know)

I insisted John that we take the locals but he never listens to me. He said "8'O clock is the peak hour". I said "Duh!, Peak at 8". Peak is normally between 9 and 10. Ok, we agreed that we will hire an auto. John spoke to an autowala in Tamil and started the conversation. I wasn't able to understand a sentence except if any sentences contained the above words and John was recursively using the annai word at the end of each sentence :P. We fixed a deal Rs.120 to IIT Madras....

A few things you notice in Madras
  • Clean roads
  • Dark people (note:I am 10% Tamilian)
  • Freaking Humidity
  • 10 FM stations playing a Tamil song at any given time
  • Biryani stalls (I don't eat dead animals )
After a 45 mins drive and getting heady by the Tamil songs played in the Auto (FM) we reach IIT Madras. I was happy that I reached IIT....an IIT... IIT means a lot to me....

After asking around people for the 'Mahanadi Hostel' and searching it like a wild dog...we reached the hostel with our heavy luggage and 4.6 kilo Robot... We landed in the accommodation
registration office and were greeted by a few IITians. They were soft spoken guys different from the typical IITians who are very very very arrogant. We were given the Shaastra ID cards, the mess ticket (John lost his within 3 hrs) the room no. and the hostel we were alloted.

A few hostel shots..

John and me (not in pic) in the final stages of getting the circuit work, but a stupid interfacing prob :(

IIT hostel corridor, 7 floors high X 20 buildings

Top view :P

The Stepper Motor and the DC motors Circuits

IIT Madras is adjacent to the National Guindy Park. It's lush green campus at first sight looks like a forest. Students who reside within the campus are not allowed to use vehicles which emit gases, all of 'em use bicycles..

While roaming around in the campus I spotted deers, stags and creatures which belong to the same family....here is a snap

A deer running across from the dense set of trees to the road and the green grass then back to the woods :)

The Food mess present in the IIT Campus is called "Himalaya". Why Himalaya because it's huge. Three floors high divided into 6 blocks. Each block can accommodate a min. of 120 people.

A pic inside the mess..

The centre of attraction was the hospidesk where stalls were put up to attract students. There were only a few of them like GE, G00gle, Siemens, Bosch etc.. Google came up to recruit people, so did Bosch and Siemens..

The Bosch Auditorium attracted helluva people. They had put up all the things they manufacture from fuel injectors, engines, engine parts, cutting & drilling tools, car simulators.....

A Mercedes Benz car simulator

Bosch fuel-injectors
Internals of an Engine at the Bosch Auditorium

Now, to the main part, the workshops and the seminars....

One of the major lecture I was looking forward to was Narendra Karmarkar, an inventor, has 6 patents and the famous 'Karmarkar Algorithm'. If you guys don't know who is Narendra Karmarkar.. check these links

Narendra Karmarkar as in Wiki

Karmarkar's Algorithm

Narendra Karmarkar at IIT Shaastra 2007

More images of Narendra Karmarkar from a G00gle search

So, on which topic did Narendra Karmarkar give a lecture on??
He speaks about "High Performance Computing and Advancement of Sciences".
Narendra Karmarkar works on 'Finite Projective geometry'

He spoke about
  • Henry Newman Parallelism storage method
  • P ={P1,P2,P3.....Pn} set of planes and L={L1,L2,L3...Ln} set of lines in a plane.
He creates a "Perfect Pattern table" which is nothing but the permutation of all lines.
  • He said "A complete pattern is a collection of perfect path if every index pair (a,b)"
  • A Perfect Pattern Table takes the shape of a 3D torus.
  • If m and n are 2 dependents then a 2D graph is less complex and cost effective.
Applications

Semantic search engines: Google is NOT a semantic search engine, it search is based on the keywords we type and tries matching them to the text present them in the pages using the G00gle bots. If a person doesn't know how a search engine basically works he won't be able to the search properly. Thus a Semantic search engine is a layman's search engine :)

Due to lack of time, I am unable to write more on his topic. I ll collect more information on the 'Finite Projective Geometry'. Keep watching this space....

Next lecture I was very impressed was of Dr. Apurv Patel, IIT Mumbai alumni, is a Professor in IISc Bangalore..

His topic was the most interesting one, Quantum Computing

So, what is a Quantum Computer.... A Quantum computer is one which runs on the laws of Quantum Mechanics....Well, we can't say exactly that present day computers run on Newton's Laws but they may be interconnected by the Laws of Gravitation and Ohm's law..

He spoke, "In a cartesian cordinate system complex numbers are imaginary numbers but in Quantum computing, complex numbers are real"

Quantum Mechanics is nothing but Theory of Waves.
He then spoke about something called as Qubit.
A Qubit is the simplest component of a quantum system...It can be compared to the Binary system...
A Binary system can have only 2 possible outputs, either true or false.
But a Quantum system can have multiple outputs.

I ll write more about this topic later...I need to study on this topic..
But once topic he exlained really fascinated me ...

Quantum Database Search

Due to bad light and the image is off a projector, the image is blurred one

In normal Database systems searching complexity is O(N) but in Quantum Database Search the complexity is O(N1/2)

He explained the Grover's quantum algorithm which was a bit tough to understand....have a look

The steps of Grover's algorithm are as follows:

  1. Initialize the system to the state
    |s\rang = \frac{1}{\sqrt{N}} \sum_{x=0}^{N-1} |x\rang
  2. Perform the following "Grover iteration" r(N) times. The function r(N) is described below.
    1. Apply the operator U_\omega=I-2| \omega\rangle \langle \omega|.
    2. Apply the operator U_s = 2 \left|s\right\rangle \left\langle s\right| - I.
  3. Perform the measurement Ω. The measurement result will be λω with probability approaching 1 for N>>1. From λω, ω may be obtained.

Our initial state is

 |s\rang = \frac{1}{\sqrt{N}} \sum_{x=0}^{N-1} |x\rang

Consider the plane spanned by |s> and |ω>. Let |ω×> be a ket in this plane perpendicular to |ω>. Since |ω> is one of the basis vectors, the overlap is

 \lang\omega|s\rang =\lang s|\omega\rang = \frac{1}{\sqrt{N}}

In geometric terms, there is an angle (π/2 - θ/2) between |ω> and |s>, where θ/2 is given by:

 \cos \left(\frac{\pi}{2} - \frac{\theta}{2} \right) = \frac{1}{\sqrt{N}}
 \sin \frac{\theta}{2} = \frac{1}{\sqrt{N}}

The operator Uω is a reflection at the hyperplane orthogonal to |ω>; for vectors in the plane spanned by |s> and |ω>, it acts as a reflection at the line through |ω×>. The operator Us is a reflection at the line through |s>. Therefore, the state vector remains in the plane spanned by |s> and |ω> after each application of Us and after each application of Uω, and it is straightforward to check that the operator UsUω of each Grover iteration step rotates the state vector by an angle of θ toward |ω>.

We need to stop when the state vector passes close to |ω>; after this, subsequent iterations rotate the state vector away from |ω>, reducing the probability of obtaining the correct answer. The number of times to iterate is given by r:

r \rightarrow \frac{\pi \sqrt{N}}{4}
r \rightarrow \frac{\pi \sqrt{2^4}}{4}=\pi \approx 3.141592654

Furthermore, the probability of obtaining the wrong answer is O(1 / N), which approaches zero as N increases.

Probability to measure the correct answer is:

 \sin^2( \frac{2r+1}{2} \theta) ,

where r is number (integer) of Grover iteration,

 \theta = 2\arccos( \sqrt{1-\frac{1}{N}} )=2\arcsin \frac{1}{\sqrt{2^n}} .
 \theta = 2\arcsin \frac{1}{\sqrt{2^4}} \approx 0.50536051.
 \sin^2( \frac{2\cdot 3+1}{2} \cdot 0.50536051) =\sin^2(3.5\cdot 0.50536051) \approx 0.98046875^2\approx 0.961318969.

And probability to measure the wrong answer is:

 \cos^2( \frac{2r+1}{2} \theta) .

Extensions

If, instead of 1 matching entry, there are k matching entries, the same algorithm works but the number of iterations must be π(N/k)1/2/4 instead of πN1/2/4. There are several ways to handle the case if k is unknown. For example, one could run Grover's algorithm several times, with

 \pi \frac{N^{1/2}}{4}, \pi \frac{(N/2)^{1/2}}{4}, \pi \frac{(N/4)^{1/2}}{4}, \ldots

iterations. For any k, one of iterations will find a matching entry with a sufficiently high probability. The total number of iterations is at most

 \pi \frac{N^{1/2}}{4} \left( 1+ \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}+\frac{1}{2}+\cdots\right)

which is still O(N1/2).

Visit his page in the IISc website here

I'll get back to this later.... :|

Then came the Advanced Materials Workshop by Dr. Sivakumar and Dr. Chandrasekar.
They explained various phenomenons of Smart materials which show different properties under different Physical constraints... like a 10mm radius titanium dioxide coin with a convex cove of 3mm in the centre when put in different temperatures was able to lift 300kg.

Dr. Chandasekar explaining with a Practical example in the auditorium
A video of the smart 'memory' material

Dr. Sivakumar gives a practical example of a smart material (a spring :| ) in this video

On the last but one day they played a movie called Sunshine
They have got a hugggggggeeee Open Air Theatre where 400+ students and other people accumulated.. The film was a sick sci-fi horror, where people land on sun (spot) and a guy exposes himself to the solar radiation in the ship and turn into a half toasted chicken....
A few pics of the same :)

We enjoyed a cup of tea near the Central railways..believe me, you can't get the taste of such a tea anywhere else in South India..a video

well, there are many other photos I have clicked..please check this link.....

There were the finals of various competetions being held on the final day.. We left IIT a bit early than expected and calculated... well, it was a very good experience.. we met people across the country.. people from other IITs, BITS Pilani, DA-IICT, RVCE all top colleges had come...I just wish that if the stepper motors had worked, we were sure that we would be in the top 3 as I saw the other models which were mechanically inferior..

The IITians are really really smart people. They adapt to any conditions and can create any situation they like. They are hard workers. They are technically superior people. They do everything, I heard a few IITians giving ma-baen gaalis, they are drug addicts, booze a lot....they know what they are doing...There is a thin line between IITians and Non-IITians.

Hard work nothing else.......

and my final words.....I hate MF Hussain due to this

Thank You....

Jai Sivaji xD

hola people!!11 ^_^

It's been 14 days since the exams got over and another 15 days to go and poof back to reality... we all head back to the jails and same old food and however we would be having new rooms this time i mean new in the sense like...i'll explain it via a joke..

army major:"a good news and a bad one..which one first?"
Soldiers:"good one first sir"
Major:"You will be getting new uniforms today :D"
all get happy
a soldier:"what is the bad news sir!"
major:"ramesh you exchange your clothes with Vikram, you..pappu with chandu..you"
hehe..

Those dark ****** in colourful lungis used to stay in that place before with never seen before big thick moustached actors (dark) posters all over the hostel rooms (YES,even they might be in lungis..) :P
man these nursing guys used to empty the whole coffee container in the medical mess.. we used to watch, they had overly excessive huge tumblers they called them glasses.. man and they drank everything present in the mess, coffee, tea and milk...holy cow..... they have the same eating habits....they just filled nooo..not a good word..... yes piled up their plates and ate....thats why the mess bills were heading to the sky hehe :P and the designer colourful lungis would put Neeta Lulla ashamed of her designs..

peace all

All right I braved enough to watch a Rajnikanth 's new movie..yesss all know it's Sivaji (with no h in it :/ ). Although I don't speak Tamil other than 'ne unn peru' and 'tamil teri maa?' (never give the reply as 'Hindi tera baap?').

Me Subramanya, his friend and John - a die hard fan of Rajnikanth and he's a tamilian.. we just needed a vent to de-stress after the stressful exams... We all met at the theatre which was running full house even in the second week... John was almost in tears as we got the tickets and sat in the middle row :P he did'nt believe he was watching Rajni's movie..

all right the movie starts, all start whistling, shouting screaming and the speakers were on full volume... subbu (Subramanya G) pointed out a 40 year old person who put his index fingers in his ears. I thought initially he was a culprit of the overhyped ads of film which made his wife and daughter go nuts over the film.. and his wife gave him dhamkis that "if you dont take us to the fillum, you have to sleep out with Julie (galli-ka-kutta (kutti))"poor chap.. half an hour into the film, rajni makes his entry with a poorly managed wig which was barely able to stick on his scalp with fevicol i suppose...jayamma (jayalalitha) banned smoking, drinking and chewing tobacco on screen and i counted John told this 5 times to all of us :P .. okie... instead of tossing a ciggie in air catching it with his lips.. he tosses a chewing gum (ye ye center fresh sponsored them)..lemme explain via a diagram..

okie..the typical rajni stuff, he bashes 30 over fed gundas easily ... one scene i love the most is where rajni and the actress go to an open air theatre to watch a king-kong film in their honda CRV.. 10 sumos come into the theatre from a very weird radius of curvature (cant they drive straight?) and start flashing (headlights you dirty minds :P) rajni in no time notices that they have come for the wasooli of the wig amount...he tries escaping..

one thing i really really appreciate, thank god the director didnt do something like "rajni says: jai chennakeshava ( 3 times with different camera angles)" and flies off like Superman with his girl ripping off the Honda CRV's head..thank god that didnt happen but something worse happened :/ i donno but i think rajni noticed some doggie goo-crap infront and manages to do a wheeli (omg)... come on guys wheeli with a Honda CRV 4 wheeler pfft..that too he spun it by 270 degrees...grrr

me and subbu were laughing our asses off and noticed no other guy was laughing not even john's friend... we feared that all guys in the theatre would take out their rampuri s and chop us..so we better kept quiet... but still we were laughing an evil laugh :P

look if i keep explaining, i can write a 4000 pages book on "Sivaji-The Hero" .....but no

yesterday i watched Jim Carrey's 23 where he psycho obsessive-compulsive guy...he's obsessed about the number 23....please do watch it 0:)

okie final review "pursuit of happYness" (yep with a Y) ....it is such a beautiful inspiring movie..true story of Chris Gardner

I would Sir Chris Gardner... it's based on his real life a self-learned man, he becomes a stock broker from a medical equipment seller...his wife leaves him, he was forced to vacate his apartment with his son, at one point he just has 21 $ in his savings account and now he has an estimated worth of $65 million.. It would be an insult to him if I write anything about him here...better watch the movie or read his auto-biography "Pursuit of happYness"...which even i have to do...

One scene i want to describe here is where 20 interns are chosen where only 1 person would be chosen as a stock broker.. the trainer says in between his dialog "we had an intern last year who scored a percentile of 96.4%, he wasn't chosen"..it really describes a few things...i remembered a student in my class , Bhavani...man she is damn mugger....my friend once told me that in the mechanical workshop, in viva-voce she was asked how much a mm is, she gave an astronomical value it seems..forget that...i respect people good or bad..... a "bad" guy is defined on different senses;...well in the Data structures viva-voce internals we both were called upon...i thought "wow bhavani, one of the toppers who never fell below 85%"..first question "what is data structures" --well an LKG kid will be knowing that data structures is how data is organized in computer...to my disbelief she said "data structures is the collection of dissimilar data items" i said wtf and my mouth was wide hung open.. i thought ok, now its true,, the mechanical viva incident MUST be true ... nobody likes her..its something like she just muggs up the whole book as if she stores it in a memory chip and retrives when needed..i say give her a dictionary she can gulp it down and read out the whole dictionary... even lecturers point out easily that whatever she write or answers to a question is a point-to-point pick up from the textbook, she doesnt miss commas, periods and can tell you when the paragraph changes.....and one more thing she wears a really bad perfume and i guess empties a whole container of talcum powder onto her face and on all that the reason i hate or we hate her is that because of her attitude..man her head is always high with eyes closed...darn...... i feel like opening "Bhavani hate club" on Orkut...

after the 3rd sem results, she was a mark ahead of me..only a mark,,, i put for reval..i am 13 marks ahead of thaat *****.....

phew...sorry guys of all the baffing up but she is a character like that ....

Equally look at the CS dep and college topper Apoorva, she is such a kind lady :D

alright...too much writing for a post now,,,comment guys... pls :P

bb all

Exams Khattam !!!1111 xD

hello people out there..

Hmmm...4th sem, exams are over... after staying in a "cell" (read hostel room) for a month, hardly eating anything (who wanna eat the mess food :/ )... here I am back to my home, eating 'mummeee ke haath ka khana', my lappy -windows +linux fedora and ofcourse my brother who is still in a jetlag (it's been a month now :P)... exams went good, papers were quite easy... easily crackable...

The first thing I did after coming here was unistall Quake 3 and Counter-Strike (*sob* *sob*)... I just felt that i was spending too much of time on game playing... But Q3, i really love it :_) may be ill start gaming after a few more years.....

Alright.. Lets take a look at our menu of the mess
*Football
*Head-shot
*Frisbees
*Hot-detergent
& more..

A first look makes you think that the items sound as if all famous sportstars combine and open a restaurant and give wierd names to the common food. Like in Tendulkar's hotel in Mumbai "clean bold" would be vodka-cocktail or "duck-out" would be what they call for mineral water, who don't wanna get high in his restaurant's alco-bevs and start playing cricket after gettin out of the hotel..

okie.. ** football(s) don't think that they cook footballs in huge steam cookers and serve them with "garlic chutney"(well, they say its coconut chutney i can never find any coconut)...
**footballs==idlis :/ they are huge heavy and they knock you off after they get "on" your head... :P

**head-shot: no,no i am not speaking about counter strike here..
head-shot==dosas yes eat 2 dosas in the morning and you won't wake up till late afternoon.. many boozers here have stopped drinking as
1. they save money on booze..
2. head-shots are legal in the campus..
3. One can have infinitely many of them..no one asks..
and cook doesn't eat his food :/
The cook actually is a drunkard who starts his day by pouring half-a-bottle of some desi tharra(alcohol) into his tea mug.. he puts either no salt or excess of salt or excess of spice which burns a hole in your tounge or absolutely no spice...
One day in the mess he cooked a never before seen-heard receipe... whole "brinjal-di-bhaaji".... i mean WHOLE brinjals guys .. He keeps experimenting and we all are kinda 'lab rats'..
I just felt "hey. just send this guy to Afghanistan" because the Talibans would capture them and he can cook em' some 'Opium-di-bhaji' and 'cocaine-afghani pulav' or LSD-ki-chai
(ah..the great Syd Barret)
and those guys would love it for sure. may be he can even learn to fire a shot or two..

okie getting back..
**frisbees: er.. we assumed them to be chapatis but :(
alternative names: maida papads, flying saucers
**hot-lubricant: (named by Aakash ,yes with a double a)
Coffee==hot-lubricant.. 80% of the students use so called coffee to wash their plates. Seriously, i am not kiddin.. It cleans your plate, makes it new.. we use plates instead of mirrors :PP
the other 20% are either some mental retards or very close to the cook :/

well, the thing is the college administration has got all the money to hire a five-star chef but the ***** never do that :/ food is very vital, my mind doesnt run without proper food. when i was 3rd sem i was in medical mess and we always saw the engineering mess "cook" in medical mess to have his lunch :/

okie..back home a month off what to do? many things are to be done like
*eat
*sleep
*eat again
:P

kiddin..
*work on Linux/Unix
*writing a code to accomplish a higly complex graph theory and Combinatorial problem.
* learn how to open a can of corns ..
etc etc etc
hmmm....

I love to code, even though I am just learning still..... well, i always think that |GOD| is a programmer too.. look before there were galaxies, planets etc..there was god, with the his laptop somewhere in space and ofcourse a coffee mug.... i can't code without sipping coffee..it gives you a jumpstart..ok, god+his lappy +his coffee...he writes code for the "big-bang" theory...keeps on writing and writing and writing, no sleep nothing (like typical programmers 0:) ) he writes code for the binbang..galaxies moving away, scattering and accumulation of mass, planet forming, life, evolution for say a few billion years (if you consider the Twin paradox,it may take less time :p )
finally he creates the final step.. Adam & Eve...

Adam says, "madam I am Adam" (madamiamadam is a Palindrome :P ) then God rests for a while leaving things to Adam and Eve... God sleeps, rests his mind for a while...
meantime, Adam and Eve kept fooling around the trees (singing a bollywood song?? naaa)
and later they came to know they can do much more than that :P
after the Original Sin, things grew at the rate of θ(2n) yea exponential, it grows astronomically large for small values of n ... then different species evolved, human beings became intelligent, they invented things, they became wicked cruel and whatnot...

All these human beings are like interrupts ..a few BILLION interrupts..how does God handle em..look take up 8086 microprocessor...it has got 256 interrupts in total... God must be having huge databases containing Interrupt Vector Table of all people in his backyard, the systems must be roaring out there, making noises. So, GoD must have put all those servers into something like an Apple iCube :P .. GoD must have created such a technology out "there" where things come in small packages...or he may have these automated systems to automatically handle "minor" interrupts... major interrupts like when we pray from our Heart, has the highest priority of all interrupts..that is when GoD looks onto his lappy and finds the history of that person and writes an instantaneous code to solve the current problem like the interrupt may be accepted or rejected :)

All Interrupt Service Routines generated have log files (like paap ka gadha) where all the exceptions, errors are written and GoD takes a look at all these log files very frequently and types a command to take appropriate action ...

okie, okie I am not high on hash or weed..but this is what I feel..something like the Matrix (I have watched it 20 times, need to watch it once more tomorrow :O )

meantime its been 5 months i last got a haircut.. people have already started keeping names like one guy calls me 'scientist' or 'sai-baba' (lol) ... sure if i just wear those 'designer kurtas' with om all over it like the foreigners do it (hare krishna hare ram people) , wear predator goggles speak in a firangi accent with a pipe in mouth, no one can identify me hehe :P

al right people time to sleep.....gn all take care...remember
"eat spagetti with your spoon and do homework in the dark"
ciao :D

Exams are not far :S

Hola people....
Toooo many things happened in the past 3 weeks.

hehe.. jokes apart.. we had our second internals.. i Had studied nothing as prior week to the internals, I was nitte competeting and got 3rd place in C programming :DD

I skipped one internal as the lunatic lecturer took special classes and he had taken a total of 11 hrs in 6 days.Normaly it must be 4hrs per 6 days....he is a crazy lecturer. So still i managed to scrap in 25,25,24 in 3 subjects :P...

Ok, there was this talents day coming :D. So I thought lets do a play and sing.. the criteria was if John (ML branch, a professional guitarist) get his guitar which he had given to someone, I wud sing, but the person to whom he had given the guitar was not in town and he wud be coming after 2 weeks. So he tried all possiblities to get an acoustic or electric guitar. I planned to sing roobaroo (RDB) with acoustic and Anjaane (Strings) with electric one. But no guitar no singing......

Coming to the play. It was "Sholay" reloded :P . hehe... me and Vishy (aka kiddu, bunny) managed to write the script within a night. I planned things properly, scripting, picking characters, rehearsing and more of it...

The script is funny :D .. i ll give a few examples like
Gabbar[G]: "Kitne aadmi the?"
kaalia[K]: "Bossss, do the" (in ignoring fashion)
G: aur tum kitne
K: baasss teen.
G: whaaat?tum kya samje boss khush hoga? cash prize dega...
Both of you three are suspended (i love this)
all: baaaassss... humne aap ka namak khaya hai, ye lo bandook, humko goli aardo par suspend mat karo..please baassss
G: (kicks em as he says) tum kapde dho
tum 6 assignments likho
aur tum mere 2 record likho,,
hehe pretty ok scene I know...

Basanti in our play is a chakka (hermaphrodite) and she is supposed be a slut haha... like she/he is supposed to flirt with all the characters present in the play..

I wont go deep with the play because WE CANCELLED it as the Principal and lecturers and students dont speak Hindi :| :(

few more things...
G: Basanti naacho x)
Veeru : Come on basanti dikhado..
ALL Dance to "mayya mayya" from Guru :P
Jay's entry (Jay is the shortest guy in the Campus here lawl)
Jay aims on Veeru's ropes..
basanti says "Hai hai Jay humko bachane aagaya" and pounces on Jay..
jay misses his aim and shootes Veeru on the head (headshot :P)
Thakur comes in and kicks Jay with a ..er legshot :P
Jay falls off..
Thakur picks up the gun with his leg and aims at gabbar..toe on trigger :P

Now a slow-mo with "jaane kya hoga Raama re"- Kaante in background :P
Shooting takes place..

Thakur-->Gabbar
Gabbar-->Samba (aim goes bad :S )
Samba-->Thakur (looks like swapping in programming :P )

Jay, basanti and the 3 people are the remainders...
Now, Jay becomes the new Sardar , marries Basanti and also have a child in one year (i donno how) (bcos Amitabh Bachchan is the new gabbar in the new Sholey)..

I ll update a few things in the future.. bb all :D

knitte++

The Blog is back, rock and roll 8)

Well, the blog is back with a bang and new stuff to write on :p haha

I dropped the previous blog bcos I heard it was getting -ve hits :p

Here I am now 4th sem CS n engg, BGSIT Mandya........

Hmmmm, last week during the 15 minute so called "tea break", I was searching whether they were serving tea anywhere, I landed up in the E&C dep. My eyes fell on the notice board which normally has "cow eating grass" on it. But this time there werent any cows or grass, there was a notification on it...

It read "Knitte++ State level tech fest". I kept on reading and suddenly my eyes fell on "C programming compitition" and "Game-a-thon". So, I decided that I want to participate in that..

There arent ANY gamers in our college (*sigh*) except a few. I knew only one guy who can play well, Vishal S.R (a.k.a junior, kiddu, rabbit etc :P ). He is a Counter-Strike and Quake 3 player.... I spoke to him about that and we ran to the notice board.. we jolted down the numbers of the student co-ordinators and Vishal smarty stored the numbers in my calci (smart thing he did :) came handy)...

The names of the student co-ordinators read, Prashanth Pai, Praveen Pai, all Pai's :|

I called him up and a very bad news :( there is no Counter Strike in the tournament :_( there's only warcraft (sucked up game). Me and Vishy are FPS(First Person Shooter) gamers. Warcraft is a stratergy game, like we drag a few people with the pointer and point them somewhere and they keep fighting with swords, bricks stones and crap crap lol.

Disappointed I was heading home on thursay night to home while in auto I got a call from Pai (I dont remember which pai) he said "Counter-Strike is in". I jumped off the seat and the auto driver looked back. Later that evening I called Vishy and we made sure that we are heading to nitte :D,

Another prob, we are 2 we need 4 and gamers are at a scare in college and we are scared to recruit the so called gamers in college who play dave and mario ... :|

I was discussing with my roomie Hussain, he preferred Sunil Rao (a.k.a Mr.Bean, Camouflage guy). He is so ver y thin that it seems skin is wrapped on bones minus the muscles/flesh :p. Vishy said "One stands in front of him, he turns and he is so thin, paper thin he cant be seen and he shoots him, he gets confused who's shooting, sunil turns, oh here you are, again he turns, where did he go." lol :D

I went to his room, "there is a counter strike tournament and Warcraft tournament we want you". He thinked quick and said yes :D
weeeeeeeeeee... we had 3 in team........

One more guy, we ended in taking Aakash who is a car gamer and strategic player. Since we had none FPS players, he said he can chip in and if you get any I walk out no prob :D

Finally we were 4, the tournament was on 18. We were to leave on 17 morning as it took nearly 10-11 hrs...

17 April was a very bad day :( . Morning Aakash's grandfather passed away (his soul rest in peace). He called Vishy out of the class and gave the news. Vishy came to my room and we had to search one more guy..

Vishy said there is a guy called Sudarshan (a.k.a Sudi). I didnt know this guy so I left vishy to sort out. After some discussion we put him in team....

We were running late as we had to leave at 12.30 PM, we were still in the campus at 1.00 pm. Finally we were ready to leave and we spotted my HOD :) me and Vishy ran to him and spoke to him "sir, we are leaving" he:"ok, all the best :D " he is a well built 6 feet man. He shook hands, the next moment I thought I need a scan on my hand, i thought my bones are broken.
Thank goodness they weren't :p

Sudi is an over smart ass***e. He thinks he is the smartest around. I hate that guy :|
We had none so we had to pick him :(

Meanwhile the bus's accelerator wire went lose and it was halted in no mans land in forest. The forest was beautiful and Vishy found time to crack plenty of jokes. Vishy can crack jokes any time any moment, he is the best mimicker we got and takes out different kinds of voices starting from his own voice, animals, guns, vehicles etc etc to wimpy noises.

We left Hassan and looking outa the window from bus, there was an Astrology ad out, the regular palm and the lines on it marked. Vishy shouts "Gimme five!". omg, I laughed my heart out.lol

Sunil is a very silent guy, speaks when necessary but intelligent :) good at maths he sorted out the calculations of the amount spent in travel including the paises :) :p

Ok, cutting some crap we ended up at Mangalore, damn very humid. We felt as if we puntuctured all over body the water from body was coming out. In no time shirts pants and chaddis were wet :|

We caught the last bus to Karkala where nitte was in between Mlore and karkala. Damn, all the places including Mlore, Surathkal, nitte karkal all smelled of fish. I wondered whether fish grew on trees here. Damn smell yech :{

We crossed across NITK, it was dark we weren't able to see much. But it was huge :) .

Vishy was dozing of in the bus and I was watching him laughing silently, he opened his mouth, with a curved back, banging his head on window, front seat and me :| . I kept giving him a conie :P

FInallllllllllly we reached nitte and called up Praveen Pai (yes, I remember). He sends a guy called Hemshekar Reddy, first look tells me he is high on weed, i told the same to Vishy and we laughed. There was an instantaneous namakarana "The Weed Guy" xD

He escorted us to the so called "NRI Hostel" which looked much like a hotel. The rooms were posh with graffiti all over the doors.

The weed guy said that we will come at 9 to get you to the college.....
so we dozed off.... .oO(zZZZZZZZZZZZ)

19th April

I chalked out plans I made the timetables and followed according to them so that people dont run out of hand. I said wake up at 7.30 get ready by 8.15. leave at 8.30 plans went perfect and the weed guy came with his original Weed look :p

Ok, so we all left the place and this mofo Sudi made the timetable late by 10 mins (bah) ....
We went there met Mr.Praveen Pai spoke to him, he is such a cool chap. We spoke as if we knew each other by a very long time :) and all the other people over there smiled at every time we crossed each other.

We read the time table and it said CS at 1.15.. we had nothing to do but Praveen said there is an opening ceremony at 10 and attend it, if you get bored you can sleep in the air-conditioned auditorium :P. We all laughed...

So all the important people lit the lamp and started the fest. The anchor had a phtaley awaaz, and we kept craciking jokes while this mofo Sudi met one of his old friends and went off and he said he will be back in 10 mins... CS was live in .5 hrs and there was no sight of this mofo ... I hate people like these, so we went and had our lunch after waiting for him and searching the campus....

Fortunately the bozo turned up.... The CS was live in 10 mins and we had to go to the E&C lab. We went and took places... I pressed TAB to see the stats....there is a clan called m3ch4n!cs (mechanics) of mech dep... well, these guys are national level winners and we didnt know that.. they wiped us out in 10 mins flat by winning 5rounds in row.. I was laughing so were others watching our game. I didnt mind as we are still n00bs in CS..

There were this paper presentations going on in the auditorium, as original we kept on cracking jokes like hell and laughing all the way, but a few were good, we listened carefully to em....

it was 5 pm, went to have tea and bumped into Praveen Pai :) ... later that evening we were haiving food in the canteen with Mr.Pai. He got impressed that we are just in 4th sem. Strange thing in canteen is that they have fixed a cam in the canteen so that they can keep an eye of the people who bunk classess.. I saw a few guys poking their fingers towards the cam, No Fear it was 8 pm. Princi wont be on his chair watching cams :P

Pai said "Hey there is CS game going on between lecturers and students, why dont you join?". We said yes in chorus :p

Happily we went to the lab and by time reached there Pai had called a guy names Santosh Vegas, he passed out college last year same college and joined the same college as a lecturer... very brainy guy and smart...

We again occupied our seats.... the people over there werent as professional as mechanics but 2 guys were g00d :)

we started at 8.30 PM. I acted like a n00b like I know nothing of CS and havent touched mouse in my life. I picked the best weapon in the business, the Magnum Sniper Rifle xD .... They just ran towards me thinking no fear.. I took 2 down but a guy from back shot me :P

The guys got veryvery irritated by my sniping, after they shot me and when i lie on ground, they put a few more bullets in my head lol :p

after we are dead, we we used to give directions to other people like "go left no right up looklook shoot" the guy never saw the screen, shot as we said..... :p

We played 150+ rounds of CS and ended at 12.30 mid-night. But these moments, I ll cherish all my life :")

Meantime mofo Sudi went to the college's hostel with his friends and it seems he had given the key of other room to some other college guys... that mofo didnt inform us about that :| 3 people on 2 beds and I was in middle, i didnt get sleep the whole night while the other made squeaky noises as they slept.... darn.....

19th April
Today was the event I looked forward to C programming, held at 10 PM. I was damn sure I am going to clear the prelims and enter the finals.. We learnt later that 150 people participated i.e., 75 teams and 10 teams were selected for the finals. Finals was like they gave a few questions and we had to code for it....

Questions looked easy but they needed time and they had given only 2 hrs of it :(

I was able to do 3 of which 2 were correct 1 had bug :(

There was a question called Harry Potter in which Harry had to brew potions which had to be of highest magical strengths. Given some ingredients harry had to select leaving only one with least magical power and prepare the potion..

Ok, what i did was bubblesorted the array, the question said we had to take the mean of the parent ingredient and add to the next...

Time was up and it was testing time, some standard inputs to the Q gave 7 as magical strength but I was getting 6.75 and didnt get time to round of :(

testguy1:"Can you show the program?"
me:"sure".

crtl+f9, that guy typed the inputs and output was 6.
he:"whats this".
I explained that was not able to round of etc...
he:"its invalid"
me:"look here, I bubble sorted the array" showing the code
he:"woah woah woah no no not that, wait"
he called another guy.. I wonder he didnt even know Bubble sort :|

testguy2:"show the ouput.."
samething.......
me:"look i bubble sorted the array"
he:"you can't Bubble sort" (chu**a )
me:"why not?"
he:"you cant"
me:"why not?"
He made a dumb expression and called another guy..

he to made the same remarks..... I walked out angrily....

Later I learnt that Mr.Praveen Paiseeing our discussion made Comp sc guys to check the code :)

I never thought that I would get a prize, but later that evening in the auditorium, we got the 3rd prize :D weeeeeeeeee :p

damn need to wake up at 4 am tomorrow (crap).. need to sleep BB laterz :D

Plzzzzzzzzzz comment :)
